[ARCHIVED] March 25th MTA Q102 Bus Town Hall Postponed

RIOC Special AnnouncementTemplate New BUS

Please see the below notice from the MTA regarding postponement of the planned March 25th Q102 Bus Town Hall

Thank you for your continued partnership on Queens Bus Network Redesign. I’m reaching out to you now to request your support as we work to navigate the emerging challenges presented by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) as we strive to adhere to the most recent guidance from the CDC, NYS DOH and medical professionals.

MTA will be postponing large public events as a precautionary measure for the safety of the public and our employees in light of concerns about community spread of coronavirus COVID-19. Events that are likely to have high attendance of vulnerable populations, such as senior citizens, are likely candidates for postponement.

We are also exploring ways to use digital technologies such as web, video and social media services to continue to enhance our outreach during this time, and ensure continued opportunities for engagement.

We will continue to monitor the situation as the MT A has done since day one, and issue further updates as necessary.

We commit to rescheduling the Queens Bus Network Redesign presentation scheduled for March 25 at the Church of the Good Shepherd in the future when the public health risks have substantially decreased and to allow appropriate time to review feedback from attendees of rescheduled events before releasing the Proposed Final Plan. Your feedback is critically important to us.

Please help us get this information to participants by sharing news of the postponement with your constituents and information network.

We appreciate your understanding at this time, as we all work to keep New York safe together.
