RIOC's Parks and Recreation Department will be removing a tree near Octagon.
Below are the details of the removal:
Scheduled Date: Tuesday, November 5th
Time: 7:00AM – 10:00AM - Begin working on concrete pad and limbing the tree up from interior of walkway.
10:00AM – 12:30PM - Intermittent closures of the roadway to safely remove the tree
12:30PM – 3:00PM - Concrete pour will begin. (Please note that if the roots require more work to pull, the concrete pour may be moved to the following day, November 6th.)
The contractor is responsible for providing all safety equipment, including flag personnel for the duration of work. The Public Safety Department will provide assistance as needed. Please note that intermittent closures will occur after rush hour.
Please also note that representatives of Coler Hospital, The Octagon and The Roosevelt Island Garden Club are aware of the tree removal and understand it is necessary for the safety and well being of our residents and stakeholders.
