The Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation's Youth Center operates as a New York State School Age Child Care (SACC) during the school year and summer. The center provides a safe and inclusive environment for youth to gather, socialize, and engage in activities. Through island collaborations and partnerships, the center is geared to serve as an outlet for youth to engage in recreational, educational, and artistic programming.
Please note our afterschool registration process and requirements:
Process
- Once the pre-registrations have been thoroughly reviewed, a tentative acceptance email will be sent out to the families who meet the necessary requirements for the afterschool program.
- Registration is contingent upon receiving ALL mandatory medical forms and consent forms.
- Parent/guardian attend one of the mandatory virtual orientations (September 5th, 6th, & 13th)
Requirements
*Registered children ages 7-18 can utilize the facility, throughout the school year (excluding major holidays, professional development days, and inclement weather) and take part in programming 5 days a week. The center is open to all youth and teens.
